Message Yeah -- I wasn't thinking we'd change the main site logo. Just have the
"powered" button; sorry, I guess my note wasn't clear.

... I wish I still had the vector artwork ... I didn't design the
original logo & well ... it's a long story :)

Message Yay, having ze Propel logo in vector format would be ace. Let's just
not change it, however. It's genuis. Only "problem" _might_ be the
lowercase first p, should we decide to have some kind of "CI" in the
long term.

Message Well guys, in our company we have made future plans to add extra features
for what we need, eg. auditing, triggers etc.

We found it was a really great that we can specify an alternative base
object extending yours, but we found that we would need to use our own
modified xsd to get the extra elements and attributes we need to implement
our extra features (tell me if we are wrong....).

For example we are going to add an audit attribute to the table element
(true/false default: false), then any new or updated rows are serialized
and stored in an audit table, linked by auditID. However are thinking
about extending this futher as to also have an auditMethod attribute,
serialization being one way, history being another which would create a
structural copy of each audited table, but adding a historyID column to
maintain the history.

Message not a problem, I was thinking a few images actually, because some
designers only like the 88 x 31 logos, some 88 x 15, depends on the
design, so you'd need a range..

which is most propular?

1. powered by propel
2. propel powered
3. propelled

Message Thanks -- that is very helpful feedback. It definitely sounds like
you'll need do some customization to get what you want. The hope, then,
on my part, is that you find it relatively straightforward to add in
these customizations ... and if not, it would be great to hear about
ways of improving that.

We do plan (for 2.0) to add this idea of builder "modules" that you can
combine together to affect the output. That could be useful for you,
since you might want all of your save() methods modified to perform the
additional auditing updates needed -- so the vision is that you would
enable the your.package.AutoAuditor builder "plugin" which would
override the default save() method functionality.

Currently, of course, you would have to extend the
PHP5ComplexObjectBuilder class and override the save() definition there.
That works, but I think there's a real case for having pluggable
builder components -- e.g. you might want to add a toXml() method, I
want Prado-style overloaders, and I want this nifty auditing tool. The
hope is that we could also remove some extraneous stuff from the main
builder classes and let users enable/disable the functionality they need.

Message hmmmm, idk, noone lists honest experiences, they always pick and
choose what they want to show the users, i would be more inclined to
make sure the arguments they have is valid and just post it, good bad
or otherwise. i would also be inclined to link to propel blog posts
and so on for more random info from users to be found easily

Message I should clarify that I'm interested in honest negative experience as
well, but I'm not sure if that is a good marketing idea on the user case
studies page.

I really like that last one, very clever :) Actually, all 3 sound great.

Message Hi Cameron,

Actually, I'll let you create the wiki page, if that's ok. You seem to
have a lot of ideas about it.

I'm open to either -- or, maybe better, both -- the short & some long
mini "case studies" perhaps. I think it would be useful to hear what
people have to say about their experience -- at least the positive parts :)

Message how much info do we want on each of them? do we want each to have
their own page of their experience with it? do we want it just to be a
link to the site? do we want it to contain email address of the person
as well?

honestly i wouldnt mind to get some useful info outta this about who
uses it for what and what versions and if they made custom builders
and blahblah?

Message Hi,

I think that's a great idea. I can create a page for that on the wiki.

I'd also be very willing to have anyone with some graphics experience /
time on their hands to create a logo! (You'll get credit & tons of
appreciation, of course!) :)

Message Our company uses propel, we wouldn't object at all. Our product hasn't
been released yet, but it due to be soon.

We've done some interesting stuff with using propel to obtain Smarty
templates from the database, with some extra magic too.

Message Was just curious if anyone objected to a page in trac dedicated to
sites/projects that are powered by propel (purely propel? symfony as
well?) and/or companies that use propel? Perhaps even some general
reports from users on why they use it blahblah?

Also has anyone got a nice little powered by propel logo?
